We were asked to create a new website for a local church. This project had a short deadline as it was a request of the Bishop of Manchester that it be completed before the advertisement for a new vicar of the church went out. The previous site was very old and dated and needed a complete overhaul. We were given examples of existing websites the clients liked and guidelines of how the site should look and feel, along with what content was needed for the site. With this in mind, we created a brand new site for them also adding a slider at the top which incorporates aerial footage of the church taken by drone.
SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE INFORMATION
We added elements such a single line announcement of the next event at the church with a countdown and time on it. Then lower down the home page, an events diary which scrolls and keeps all parishioners informed of the week’s and month’s events. There is also a notice element on the page and a facebook feed, which brings in all the updated information from the church’s facebook feed. An element for a video diary of all the recent sermons is also available for the client.
The navigation menu is in depth and the site is a wealth of information and resources for the community to look at. The website is well structured and needed to be due to its size and the information it holds.
